Students Have a Whale of a Time

As part of our High Holiday exploration and observation, the Religious School spent two weeks immersed in the story of Jonah and the Whale, a traditional reading on Yom Kippur.  In classes, the students had opportunities to explore different versions of the story through text, video, crafts and food. The culmination was a visit from the Whalemobile, offering the students the opportunity to learn more about whales, watch a life-size whale inflate, and go inside the whale to explore, learn and "be Jonah" while making connections to the story and creating a memorable experience.
