General Fund
Used to provide for the general operation of the synagogue.
Chai Fund
Supplements the operating fund of the temple in the current or future fiscal years, with the intent of maintaining the congregation’s financial stability.
Capital Fund
Used to make capital expenditures for the synagogue.
Endowment Fund
Assures the long-term future of the synagogue.
Adult Education Fund
Provides programming that encourages our vision of lifelong Jewish learning.
Beautification/Fine Arts Fund
Used for the acquisition or maintenance of items that enhance the beauty of the physical facilities and grounds.
Chesed/Helping Hand Fund
Used to make capital expenditures for the synagogue.
Education Fund
Helps enrich our children’s religious education.
Enhanced Jewish Experience for Youths Fund (EJEY Fund)
Provides scholarships and support for children to participate in enhanced Jewish experiences, i.e., Jewish camps, trips to Israel and confirmation trips.
Gayle Friedlander Leadership Development Fund
Funds programs to develop temple leaders.
Hessie Goldstein Memorial Library Fund
Used to improve the Congregation Library.
James and Carol Herscot and Myrna Freedman Fund to Enhance Jewish Life in Greater Lowell
Used to enhance Jewish life in the greater Lowell community. .
Martin Ames Memorial Social Action Fund
Supports social action programming.
Music Fund
Supports musical programming throughout the temple.
Prayer Book Fund
Used for the acquisition of prayer books for the general use of the Congregation.
Rabbi Terri Bard Lectureship Fund
Used to bring interesting, topical speakers to the temple for educational purposes.
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
This is a congregational fund exclusively controlled by the Rabbi, to be used when the need arises.
Shalomites Scholarship Fund
Assists member families with high school age children with the costs of attending NFTY sponsored events such as shul-ins, conclavettes, dances, institutes, and the national convention.
Susan Murray Youth Scholarship Fund
Used for the purpose of furthering the Jewish experience of our temple youth.
Torah Restoration Fund
Used to maintain the Congregation’s Torah scrolls. Responsible Party: Rabbi.
Twenties Activities Fund
Funds activities intended for the young adult segment of our temple community.
Zelman Kamien Tree of Life Fund
Purchasing a leaf on our beautiful Tree of Life is a meaningful way to commemorate family life cycle events or honor and remember a loved one.
Grocery Gift Cards
Give back to Congregation Shalom just by grocery shopping. Grocery store gift cards are available for Hannaford and Stop + Shop. We earn 6% from your purchase, with no additional charge to you. Sign up for our monthly program or order cards as needed. You can have grocery cards sent to college students too! Contact giftcards@congregationshalom.org.
