Communications Committee

The Communications Committee oversees a majority of communications for the temple. The monthly newsletter, the website, weekly reminders email, weekly updates email, and publicity through local media come under the jurisdiction of the committee.If you are interested in helping with our many communication needs, please Contact the Committee Chair.

The Congregation Shalom Update, the monthly newsletter, and the Weekly Temple Reminders don’t necessarily share content or get information from the same source. Submitting your listing to one does not automatically place it in the other. Events are listed by request of Congregation Shalom groups, and not automatically added from any other sources.

Help us keep you updated! If you ever change your e-mail address please let us know. Send your new e-mail address to: the Congregation’s President, and optionally to the updates editor if you are on the weekly updates list and the reminders editor if you are on the weekly reminders list. If you receive an electronic copy of the newsletter don’t forget to advise our newsletter editor as well When updating, please give your old email address as well as the new.

Emergency List: The Congregation maintains a list of email addresses of all members that is used to send out notices of emergencies, deaths, and other items that need immediate attention. Inclusion on this list is suggested for all members.

Newsletter: The newsletter is produced each month and contains articles and announcements of interest to our members. It can be received by email or by regular mail. The third Thursday of every month is the deadline to submit anything to the Temple newsletter. Our editor prefers that submissions be made via e-mail. Submissions can include text and images. Updates: Weekly Updates is an email that is sent on Tuesdays to interested parties. The update contains a brief yet fairly detailed description of upcoming events of interest. If your group is having an event or activity that you’d like to have shared in the Update with the entire Temple family, simply e-mail a one or two paragraph description to and we’ll help spread the word. We’ll even help you write your listing in an informative and appealing manner. Information needs to be submitted by 11 AM on Monday for Tuesday’s Update.
