Social Action/Social Justice Committee
The mission of the Social Action/Social Justice Committee is to be the central resource for Jewish social action to both temple organizations and individuals in the temple who look for ways to make a positive impact on the world. Our committee strives to provide a Jewish framework for our congregants to perform tikkum olam. Our committee is always looking for fresh ideas and new members. Please contact the committee chair.
In choosing and developing projects:
- We try to be nonjudgmental, progressive and take on projects that are trans- denominational.
- We support pluralism, inclusiveness and tolerance
- We believe that family and community are the central building blocks and support for the temple community
- We believe in the importance of Israel in Jewish identity and larger community
The Social Action/Social Justice committee projects are made possible through temple budget, funding from the Martin Ames Memorial Fund, and individual member support.
